A new update to Telegram was recently announced. It allows users to share entire chat folders via a simple link, customize wallpapers for private conversations, access web apps in any conversation and many other features.
Easily share your chat folders 📂
Chat folders are a great way to organize your different conversations on the messaging platform. Telegram now allows you to share them as a link to invite your friends and acquaintances in different groups and channels. If you receive a link, you will be able to add a folder and join all the chats associated with it.
It is possible to create multiple invitation links for each chat folder, each one giving access to different conversations. When you create a link, you can choose which conversations you want to include and give it a unique name, such as « Family » or « Soccer Club, » depending on its composition. You can add all public chats as well as those for which you are allowed to add people. When the folder is updated and its link is updated, members will be suggested to join the new chats.
Custom wallpapers are coming to Telegram 🖼️
It sounds crazy, but a feature-packed app like Telegram didn’t offer the ability to customize wallpapers with your own photos until now. But better late than never.
It is now possible to customize wallpapers with your own photos in specific exchanges on Telegram. Once the wallpaper is set, a message is sent in the chat to allow your partner to add the same background on his side, or to choose his own.
You can set a custom wallpaper in any private chat. To set a custom wallpaper, tap > ‘Set Wallpaper’ in the chat header on Android, or open a profile and tap > “Change Wallpaper ” on iOS.
Bots are now accessible in any chat 🤖
Bots have become mini-applications within Telegram. They can now be launched in any conversation. To access them, you can use a direct link or mention the bot’s username in any conversation on Telegram. For example, try typing @durgerkingbot (followed by a space) in any exchange or posting this link: https://t.me/DurgerKingBot/menu
Some interface improvements📱
Telegram takes advantage of an update to make some adjustments in its interface.
- The attachments menu now scrolls quickly, just like shared media. To access older attachments, simply scroll down the date bar.
- In groups with less than 100 members that have enabled the « Topics » feature, read receipts now show the time your messages were read by other members.
- The « Send When Online » feature now requires less manipulation in conversations where you can see the time your caller was last seen. All you have to do is hold down the send button.
- It is now possible to create groups without adding members immediately. This allows you to set permissions and pin a few messages before inviting members.
- Profile photos on the latest iPhones are now animated and blend into the Dynamic Island as you scroll through profiles and information pages.
