WhatsApp updates polls and improves sharing with caption 🗳️

Since their introduction, polls have been very popular with WhatsApp users. Meta’s messaging application continues to improve this feature, as well as file sharing within messaging.

New improvements for polls 🗳️

WhatsApp polls have been quickly adopted by users, especially in groups. Thanks to them, users can quickly consult each other. But until now they had one major flaw: the lack of unique votes. With the update, this is now a thing of the past. By disabling the « Allow multiple answers » option when creating a new poll, respondents will only be able to choose one answer from the choices provided.

Tracking of results is also improved. Poll creators will receive a notification each time someone responds to one of their polls. They will also be able to see how many people in total have voted in the survey details.
The improvements don’t stop there. WhatsApp is also making it easier to search for polls in your messages. From the search icon in the chat tab, select « Polls » and voila.

 

More control for your file shares with caption ➡️

File sharing on WhatsApp is one of the flagship features of the application. With just a few clicks, you can share a photo, video or document with one person or a whole group. WhatsApp improves this feature and gives you the ability to edit media with a caption.
When uploading media with a caption, you can now choose to keep it, delete it or rewrite it. If there is no caption, you can add one at the time of transfer. This allows you to provide more context to the media you upload.
The rollout of this update has begun and should continue over the next few weeks. If you haven’t received it yet, please be patient, it should be here soon.
