On March 11, 2025, the Ministry of Commerce launched a digital platform dedicated to the collection of non-tax revenues. This initiative aims to improve collection efficiency, enhance transparency, and secure transactions.

A reform to optimize state revenue💰

Non-tax revenues include fees for administrative documents, fines, and dividends from public enterprises. These revenues represent an estimated potential of 800 billion FCFA. However, the actual amount collected remains below this figure, limiting the government’s financial capacity.

With this new platform, the government hopes to simplify administrative procedures. In addition, this innovation will make online payments easier for both citizens and businesses. Digitalization is also expected to reduce financial losses caused by traditional procedures, which are often opaque and inefficient.

Easier access to administrative services 🏛️

Users will now be able to make payments remotely, without having to visit physical counters. They will also have access to services such as downloading authenticated administrative documents. This increased transparency aims to ensure faster and more reliable transactions.

This reform is part of a broader effort to modernize Cameroon’s administration. The government has already implemented several initiatives to digitize its services and optimize public financial management.

How to register on the platform ?🤷🏾‍♀️

Accessing the digital platform is simple and requires just a few steps:

  1. Go to the official website www.services-publics.cm.
  2. Click on the User space tab and select Register.
  3. Fill in the registration form with the required information.
  4. Validate the registration by entering the OTP code received via SMS.
  5. Log in to your account and start using the available services.

How does it work ? 🤷🏾‍♂️

Once registered, users can carry out various administrative procedures by following these steps :

  • Log in to their personal account.
  • Search for the desired service and provide the necessary information.
  • Attach the required documents if needed.
  • Select a payment method from the available options (Mobile Money, bank card, etc.).
  • Confirm the transaction using their PIN code.
  • Download the payment receipt and, if applicable, the requested administrative document.

An ambitious goal for 2025 📊

In December 2024, during his appearance before the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly, Minister of Finance Louis Paul Motaze announced a revenue collection target of 361 billion FCFA for 2025. This figure represents about half of the estimated potential for non-tax revenues. Ultimately, the government aims to reach 600 billion FCFA. The ongoing reforms will strengthen monitoring mechanisms and encourage more taxpayers to adopt this digital system.

The digitalization of non-tax revenue collection marks a significant step forward in Cameroon’s public finance management. This transition to digital solutions also reflects a commitment to greater transparency and efficiency in governance. If this platform delivers on its promises, it could permanently transform how the state mobilizes its resources and enhances its ability to fund public policies.
