Samsung is set to roll out One UI 7, its new interface based on Android 15. This update brings a refreshed design, smooth animations, and AI-powered features. But who will get it? And more importantly, when? Here’s everything you need to know.
A Two-Phase Rollout 🌟
One UI 7 debuted with the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, as well as the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26. However, Samsung officially kicks off the broader deployment on April 7, 2025.
✨ Who’s Included on This Date?
- Premium Smartphones: Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, S24 Ultra, S24 FE
- Foldable Phones: Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5
- Previous Generations: Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra, S23 FE
- Tablets: Galaxy Tab S10+, S10 Ultra, Tab S9, S9 Plus, S9 Ultra
However, not all features will be available across all devices. Only 2024 models (S24, Z Flip/Fold 6, Tab S10) will get the full experience, while some features will remain exclusive to the S25 series and newer devices.
What About Other Galaxy Devices? 📱
Samsung hasn’t detailed the full list of eligible devices yet, but based on its update policy, the following models should receive One UI 7 in the coming months:
- Galaxy A Series: A05, A05s, A06, A14, A15, A16, A24, A25, A33, A34, A35, A53, A54, A55, A73
- Galaxy M Series: M35
- Older Flagships: Galaxy S21, S21+, S21 Ultra, S21 FE, S22, S22+, S22 Ultra
- Older Foldables: Galaxy Z Flip 3 & 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3 & 4
Some limitations are expected: for instance, the Galaxy S23 series will lose the Audio Eraser feature, which isolates and removes specific sounds from videos.
One UI 7: AI at the Heart of Everyday Tasks 🤖
Samsung continues integrating Galaxy AI into One UI 7. Here are some standout new features:
- Now Bar: An interactive lock screen bar for quick access to essential updates.
- AI Select: A smart way to select content and extract intelligent shortcuts.
- Google Gemini: Deeper integration to execute complex tasks using natural voice commands.
- Visual Enhancements: Redesigned icons, increased transparency, and more accessible shortcuts.
One UI 7 delivers numerous improvements but also highlights Samsung’s strategic segmentation. Newer models get the full experience, while older ones face some limitations. Will this strategy convince users or push them toward upgrading?
