Côte d’Ivoire : a digital platform to secure justice documents ⚖️

The Ivorian government is modernizing its judicial system. Since January 30, 2025, a platform for digitizing and securing justice documents (e-justice.ci) has been accessible. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, aims to simplify, accelerate, and secure the issuance of judicial documents for citizens.

A more accessible and secure justice system 🔒

With this platform, users can now obtain official documents, including nationality certificates and criminal records. The goal is to reduce queues in courts, speed up application processing, and ensure the authenticity of documents, all thanks to the Visible Electronic Seal (CEV).

Initially, the courts of Yopougon and Dabou are integrated into this system. Eventually, all courts in Abidjan will join the platform, followed by a gradual nationwide deployment.

A partnership with ONECI 🤝

To ensure maximum security, the project relies on a partnership with the National Office of Civil Status and Identification (ONECI). This organization manages the National Register of Physical Persons (RNPP) and assigns a unique identification number to each citizen. With its expertise, ONECI guarantees the integrity of data and prevents any falsification of issued documents.

Additionally, to enhance transparency, ONECI provides a mobile application called « Verif by ONECI ». Available on app stores, it allows users to verify the authenticity of a document within seconds by scanning the CEV.

An innovation encouraged 📢

During the launch ceremony, the Minister of Justice, Jean Sansan Kambilé, emphasized the importance of this reform. He also encouraged magistrates, lawyers, government agencies, and citizens to embrace this digital tool. According to him, this initiative represents a major step toward a more modern and accessible justice system.

In summary, this initiative by the Ivorian government aims to improve the quality of public services and adapt to technological challenges.
