Digital talks to better integrate women into digital in Cameroon 🚀

On March 11, 2025, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (Minpostel) launched the first edition of digital talks in Yaoundé. This initiative, led by Minette Libom Li Likeng, aims to train and raise awareness among women on digital tools. Under the theme “Women: key players in Cameroon’s digital transformation”, the program seeks to bridge the digital divide and increase female participation in the sector.

A priority target: women in the public sector 🏛️

This program is primarily aimed at women working in the telecommunications and technology sector. It specifically targets employees from the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ART), the National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies (ANTIC), Cameroon Postal Services (CAMPOST), and Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL). The goal is to provide them with a learning and networking platform to strengthen their skills and actively participate in the country’s digital transformation.

“Women must be at the heart of this evolution. These meetings allow them to better understand the challenges of digital technology,” said Minette Libom Li Likeng.

During these digital talks, several key topics were covered: cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and digital entrepreneurship. These are all fields in which women need better training to seize opportunities in the digital world. In addition to training, the initiative also encourages professional retraining into digital careers. It aims to equip women with the necessary tools to innovate and launch businesses in the tech industry.

A commitment to inclusive digital growth 🌍

These meetings are part of Minpostel’s ongoing efforts to promote responsible and secure digital practices. They complement existing initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the importance of digital technology and its challenges. With this initiative, the government reaffirms its commitment to a more inclusive and accessible digital sector for women.
