Born from local innovation, this homegrown app offers a streamlined, cost-effective alternative to traditional online payment platforms—and it’s built specifically with the realities of African users in mind.

It’s fully compatible with Mobile Money services and ensures smooth interoperability between major networks—something that’s still a headache for many users in the region.

“I sell clothes online, and since I started using Switchn, my customers have no more excuses for delaying payments,” says Grâce Mbarga, an entrepreneur. “I can send money from MTN to Orange without issues or extra fees. In two minutes, the cross-network problem is solved.”

Launched in 2020, Switchn now boasts thousands of active users across Cameroon. According to figures visible on the App Store, the platform has already processed over 350 million CFA francs in transactions. Behind it is a team of young, passionate Cameroonian developers who regularly update the app with new features and improvements.

Late last year, the app unveiled prepaid funds, enabling access to a digital wallet directly within the app. More recently, the app has made it possible to purchase bundles without the need for an internet connection.
