Samsung pushes the boundaries with its new Galaxy Watch Ultra. This is a high-end smartwatch designed for athletes and adventure enthusiasts. Presented alongside the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Ring, this watch with its square and robust design stands out for its exceptional resistance and advanced features.
A robust design for extreme conditions 💪🏾
Unlike previous models, the Galaxy Watch Ultra adopts a square design with slightly rounded corners. The 47mm format is equally imposing. This new design is notably reminiscent of the one adopted by Apple for its Watch Ultra.
This aesthetic choice is accompanied by a new Grade 4 titanium case design. It ensures extreme durability and increased resistance to harsh conditions.
It benefits from IP68 certification, 10 ATM for diving up to 100 meters. The MIL-STD-810H certification makes it suitable for use in hostile environments. The watch can operate at temperatures ranging from -20°C to 55°C and at altitudes between -500m and 9000m. These characteristics make it an ideal ally for outdoor activities, from hiking to trail running to diving.
Advanced features for athletes 🚴🏾♀️
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is equipped with the new BioActive sensor with 13 LEDs. It allows precise heart rate measurement, even in water. It also integrates a dual-frequency GPS for ultra-precise tracking of outdoor activities. A new customizable action button allows you to quickly launch specific functions or easily manage transitions in triathlon. For navigation, it offers advanced functions such as GPX route tracking and « Track Back » to easily find your starting point.
As for safety, the watch has an emergency siren. By pressing the action button for five seconds, it produces an 86-decibel alert audible up to 180 meters. It also includes an SOS function and fall detection, providing crucial medical information when needed.
Impressive battery life🔋
The extended battery life of the Galaxy Watch Ultra is one of its major assets. Thanks to a large capacity battery, the autonomy can last up to 100 hours in power-saving mode and 48 hours in sport mode. This performance is made possible by the new Exynos W1000 processor, also used in the Galaxy Watch7. The watch also benefits from a screen offering a maximum brightness of 3000 nits, ensuring optimal readability even in bright sunlight. An automatic night mode is also available for comfortable use in the dark.
Compatibility and Galaxy Ecosystem 📱
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is one of the first Android smartwatches to run on Wear OS 5. This operating system, designed in partnership with Google, offers improved performance and energy efficiency. It allows access to a variety of popular applications directly from the wrist. Whether it’s Galaxy services, Google applications, or third-party apps, everything is accessible from the wrist.
Moreover, integration within the Galaxy ecosystem allows for more accurate health analysis when used in conjunction with the Galaxy Ring. Battery life is then extended by up to an additional 30%.
Availability and Price 💰
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is available for pre-order now. It will be on sale from July 24th at a price of 699 euros. It is offered in three colors: Titanium Gray, Titanium White, and Titanium Silver, only in 4G version. For every pre-order, Samsung offers an additional strap.
With the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Samsung offers a robust and versatile smartwatch capable of meeting the needs of the most demanding athletes. It also offers the latest advances in health tracking and connectivity. Its robust design and impressive performance make it a serious competitor in the high-end smartwatch market.
