Samsung has just unveiled its new smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 7, during its summer Galaxy Unpacked conference. At first glance, this new iteration seems little different from its predecessors, but it actually hides numerous improvements under its elegant casing.

A Familiar Design, Enhanced Performance 🚀

Aesthetically, the Galaxy Watch 7 remains faithful to the Galaxy Watch lineage, with a round case available in 40 mm or 44 mm. The only visible differences are the new strap with orange and blue overstitching, as well as a lower button now marked in white. This continuity in design is not necessarily a flaw, as Samsung has refined a formula already appreciated by users.

It’s under the hood that the real innovations reveal themselves. The watch incorporates the new Exynos W1000 processor, etched in 3 nm, promising up to 3.4 times more power than its predecessor. This chip should not only improve the overall performance of the watch but also optimize its battery life, a crucial point for intensive users. The screen benefits from a maximum brightness of 3000 cd/m², ensuring excellent readability even in full sunlight.

Cutting-Edge Sensors for Improved Health and Sports Tracking 🏃🏾‍♀️

The Galaxy Watch 7 stands out with its new BioActive optical heart rate sensor. Equipped with 13 LEDs compared to 5 for previous models, it offers 30% increased accuracy during intense workouts. This improvement should satisfy athletes in search of reliable data.

GPS tracking has also been improved thanks to the integration of a dual-frequency GNSS chip (L1 and L5). This technology, usually reserved for high-end or sport-specific watches, ensures more precise tracking of movements, even in dense urban environments.

Advanced Features for Daily Lifn 🩺

Beyond technical improvements, the Galaxy Watch 7 offers new practical features. The « Energy Score » uses AI to analyze sleep, heart rate, and daily activities, providing a global overview of the user’s fitness. Sleep tracking has been refined, with personalized coaching to improve rest quality.

The watch also allows measuring body composition directly from the wrist, tracking menstrual cycles thanks to an infrared temperature sensor, and has a fall detection function for added safety. Reminders are also available for medication intake.

Samsung has also added ergonomic features such as hand gestures to control certain actions without touching the screen.

Price and Availability💰

The Galaxy Watch 7 is now available for pre-order in 2 sizes, 40mm and 44mm. Two colors are offered: green and cream (silver for the 44mm version). 4G is also available as an option. As for prices, here they are:

  • Galaxy Watch 7 40 mm Bluetooth : 319 euros
  • Galaxy Watch 7 44 mm Bluetooth : 349 euros
  • Galaxy Watch 7 40 mm 4G : 369 euros
  • Galaxy Watch 7 44 mm 4G : 399 euros

Although the Galaxy Watch 7 doesn’t revolutionize the design of Samsung’s smartwatches, it brings significant improvements in terms of performance, sensor accuracy, and features. These developments should appeal to both users looking for a daily assistant and athletes wanting precise activity tracking. It remains to be seen if the battery life will live up to the promises, a crucial point for the success of this new generation of Galaxy Watch.
