Camtel is taking a decisive step in its digital modernization ambitions by approving a budget of 326.2 billion FCFA for 2025. This amount is fully dedicated to technological initiatives aimed at transforming aging infrastructure and improving the services offered.

An investment in digital infrastructure ☢️

Camtel’s 2025 plan focuses on installing new antennas and modernizing existing equipment. The goal is to optimize network coverage and service quality. As the exclusive fiber optic provider for giants like Orange and MTN Cameroon, the company plans to strengthen its capacity to meet growing connectivity demands.

Moreover, special attention will be given to rural areas, which remain largely underconnected. Expanding the network in these regions represents a strategic lever to enhance digital inclusion.

Improving technological performance 📈

Camtel is building on its foundations to intensify its technological investments. However, several challenges remain to be addressed:

  • Fiber optic capacity: Improving efficiency and service availability for major clients like Orange and MTN.
  • Network coverage optimization: Deploying robust infrastructure in low-density digital areas.
  • User experience: Adopting technologies focused on improving service quality and reliability.

For digital transformation ☸️

Camtel’s board of directors has approved a 2025-2027 Performance Program, which focuses exclusively on technological solutions, including:

  • Infrastructure strengthening: Installing new technologies to enhance connectivity.
  • Diversification of digital services: Adopting innovative solutions to meet market trends.
  • Operational optimization: Automating internal processes for more efficient management.
  • Accelerating rural coverage: Deploying tailored solutions in remote areas.

In summary, with this record budget and an ambitious technological strategy, Camtel aims to position itself as a cornerstone of Cameroon’s digital transformation. However, the question remains whether these investments will help bridge the digital divide and solidify its leadership in a rapidly evolving sector.
