Chad has officially launched its electronic visa platform, an initiative aimed at modernizing public services, simplifying procedures, and attracting more travelers.

A step toward digitizing public services 💻

Chad’s Minister of Finance, Budget, Economy, and Planning, Tahir Hamid Nguilin, announced the official launch of the electronic visa platform, called “eVisa.td”. This new measure enables foreign travelers to obtain their visas without having to physically visit an embassy.

During the event, the minister stated :

Chad is the 26th country in the world to offer an electronic visa. This reflects President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s commitment to digitizing our public services.

A user-friendly platform for travelers ✈️

The eVisa.td platform is already online, allowing travelers to :

  • Submit their visa applications in just a few clicks,
  • Pay the required fees online,
  • Receive their visas electronically.

The cost for a short-term, multiple-entry eVisa is set at €100. Authorities recommend submitting applications at least seven days before arrival to avoid delays.

A tool for enhanced efficiency and security 🔒

The implementation of the eVisa represents a step forward in modernizing how Chad manages inbound and outbound flows. By centralizing data and integrating electronic payments, the government aims to :

  • Strengthen border security,
  • Improve transparency in application processing,
  • Reduce long embassy wait times,
  • Eliminate geographical constraints for applicants.

A beneficial modernization for development 📈

This initiative aligns with Chad’s broader digital transformation strategy. It also marks tangible progress in modernizing public services, making the country more accessible to investors, tourists, and other travelers.

Through this advancement, Chad hopes to attract more visitors and boost its economy while addressing the growing demand for fast and efficient services.
