Egypt is doubling down on its ambition to make artificial intelligence accessible to everyone. Nearly 1,900 participants have just completed the country’s AI Ambassadors program — a nationwide initiative designed to bring AI literacy to every corner of society.
A nation ready to evolve 🚀
On October 13, 2025, Egypt’s National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) held a graduation ceremony for the fourth cohort of its Artificial Intelligence Ambassadors program, developed in partnership with the Engineers for Sustainable Egypt Foundation.
A total of 1,895 trainees earned their certificates, officially joining the ranks of the country’s “AI Ambassadors.” The event was attended by NTI Director Professor Ahmed Khattab, foundation president Mohammed Kamel, and several leading figures from Egypt’s tech ecosystem.
Making AI everyone’s business 🌍
Unlike most AI initiatives that target developers or data scientists, Egypt’s program aims broader — it welcomes professionals from all backgrounds who want to understand and apply AI in their daily work. The goal is to turn each graduate into a digital culture champion — someone who can drive innovation and digital transformation within their organization.
Each cohort completes 36 hours of interactive training, blending theory and hands-on practice, followed by a one-month applied project. Participants learn the fundamentals of AI, ethical implications, industry trends, and practical ways to integrate intelligent tools into real-world workflows.
Building digital literacy at scale 💡📚
Since its launch, the program has trained over 5,000 people, reflecting Egypt’s commitment to building a digitally literate population. For the Egyptian government, this is part of a broader strategy for inclusive digital transformation — one where innovation is shared by all, not reserved for a technological elite.
By focusing on mass training rather than a small pool of experts, Egypt hopes to build a solid foundation of citizens capable of understanding and using AI across sectors — from public administration and education to business and non-profits.
This large-scale effort underscores Egypt’s pragmatic approach to technological development. The AI Ambassadors initiative not only reinforces the country’s position as a regional innovation hub but also prepares society to fully embrace the opportunities of the intelligent future.
