ANTIC: Focus on cybersecurity and the fight against disinformation 🚀

From February 24 to 26, the Annual Conference of the Central and Decentralized Services of the National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies was held in Kribi. Under the theme « Cyber resilience: A key factor for the development of the national digital economy, » this event set the 2025 roadmap for a safer and more efficient digital landscape in Cameroon.

A strengthened vision for a secure digital environment 🔒

In his opening speech, Prof. Ebot Ebot Enaw, Director General of ANTIC, outlined the agency’s key action points for the year. The strategic priorities include :

• A new headquarters to provide teams with a modern and efficient working environment. To this end, the construction of a new headquarters has been launched. This project aims to improve working conditions and optimize operational efficiency.
• Enhanced cybersecurity to better protect the country’s digital infrastructure. ANTIC plans to intensify the monitoring and protection of information systems to ensure a safer digital environment.
• A stronger fight against disinformation. In response to the spread of fake news online, the agency plans to implement awareness campaigns and fact-checking tools.

Additionally, the goal is to promote responsible Internet use while preserving freedom of expression. It is worth noting that ANTIC is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. It is responsible for Internet regulation and electronic certification in Cameroon. It also ensures cybersecurity, promotes ICTs, manages the .cm domain, and conducts security audits to support safe and harmonized digital development.

A challenge for the digital economy💡

These measures will accelerate Cameroon’s digital transformation while ensuring a secure framework for both citizens and businesses. Moreover, to attract investors and foster innovation, it is crucial to build a reliable and resilient digital ecosystem.

Through discussions and debates held over three days, this conference laid the foundation for a digital strategy tailored to current challenges.
