How to share your real-time location on Google Maps ? 📍

Sharing your location with friends and family can be useful in certain situations, such as when you’re in danger, or when you’re visiting a place on your own. Thanks to Google Maps, you can do just that.
Share with a person who has a Google Account
- If you haven’t already, add their Gmail address to your Google Contacts.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app
and sign in.
- Tap your profile picture or initial

- Choose how long you want to share your location.
- Tap the profile of the person with whom you want to share your location. If asked about your contacts, give Google Maps access.
- Tap Share.
The person you’ve selected will see that you’ve shared your position with them.
Share with a person who doesn’t have a Google Account
To send your location to someone who doesn’t have a Google Account, share your location with a link.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app
and sign in. Learn how to sign in.
- Tap your profile picture or initial

- To copy your Location sharing link, tap Copy to clipboard.
- To share the link with someone, paste the link into an email, text, or other messaging app.
People with this link can find your real-time location for as long as you choose, up to 24 hours.
Stop sharing
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app
.
- Tap your profile picture or initial
Location sharing.
- Tap the profile of the person you don’t want to share your location with anymore.
- Tap Stop.
Find someone’s location
Lorsqu’une personne partage sa position avec vous, vous pouvez savoir où elle se trouve sur votre carte.
- On your phone, open the Google Maps app

- Tap the profile of the person you want to find.
- To update the person’s location: Tap on a friend’s icon

Ask for someone’s location
If you shared your location with someone, or they shared with you in the past, you can ask for their location in Maps.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app
.
- Tap your profile picture or initial
Location sharing.
- Tap a contact who shared with you before.
- Tap Request
Request.
After you ask for your contact’s location, they get your email address, a notification and can:
- View your profile to verify who you are.
- Share their location with you.
- Ignore your request.
- Block you. You can’t ask for their location anymore.
