WhatsApp adds color to your chats with customization options 🖌️

The world’s most popular instant messaging app, WhatsApp, is about to take a new step in terms of personalization. Soon, users will be able to give their conversations a fresh look thanks to the introduction of customizable themes.

Advanced customization 🖌️

According to reports from WABetaInfo and Android Authority, who have tested the feature in preview, WhatsApp will allow users to customize the appearance of their chat windows. This new option will offer the ability to choose a background as well as a color for message bubbles.

To make theme creation seamless, the message bubble color will automatically adapt to the chosen background. However, users will also have the option to manually select a color for more customization.

Unlike other messaging apps, the selected theme will only be visible to the user who set it. Each person can therefore personalize their interface without affecting the experience of their chat partners. It will also be possible to disable these customization options for specific conversations.

A wide selection of predefined themes 🖼️

WhatsApp goes further by introducing a list of predefined wallpapers, offering a wide visual choice for users. Additionally, the app allows adjusting the theme’s brightness, catering to those who prefer dark mode. A slider will enable users to move between light and dark modes, helping them find the perfect balance according to their needs and visual comfort.

Although the exact release date of this feature hasn’t been announced, observers hope to see it launched before the end of the year.
