WhatsApp continues to innovate and enhance user experience by introducing a new feature: custom lists. Following the success of its conversation filters launched a few months ago, Meta’s messaging app takes things up a notch to make organizing your chats even easier.

Tailored Categories for Better Chat Management 🏷️

With customized lists, WhatsApp meets user expectations by allowing them to filter conversations more intuitively. These new lists enable users to create tailored categories, whether for family members, work colleagues, or friend groups, allowing for more targeted management of conversations. WhatsApp aims to help you stay focused on your most important chats based on your needs. This new feature seems inspired by Telegram’s folders.

How to Create and Customize Your Lists ➕

Creating lists is quick and easy. From the “Chats” tab, simply tap the “+” icon located in the filter bar at the top of the screen. You can then name your new category and add individual contacts or group chats. The lists will appear directly in the filter bar, making them easily accessible.

A Gradual Rollout ⏳

Custom lists feature is already rolling out and will gradually become available to all users in the coming weeks. While this update doesn’t yet allow you to reorder categories by preference, it represents a significant step forward in managing your conversations.
