It’s no secret that Netflix wants to end account sharing. After several rumors and tests in some countries, Netflix has decided to extend it to more countries.

Netflix will announce the news to its subscribers by e-mail 📧

According to the platform’s rules, « a Netflix account is intended to be used by members of the same household, » so Netflix has decided to end account sharing outside the home. Subscribers will receive an email reminding them of these rules and informing them of the means at their disposal if they wish to continue sharing their account.

Other users will be able to transfer their profile 🔄️

As stated in the previous email, Netflix will give you two options when sharing accounts with someone who does not live under the same roof as you:

• Transfer profile to a new account : You’ll be able to give those you share the account with the option to transfer all their information to a new Netflix account dedicated to them. This will allow them to keep their history, lists and personalized recommendations.
• Add an additional member : You will be able to create sub-accounts for up to 2 people. Each sub-account will have its own profile, personalized recommendations and access. This option will add an extra €5.99/month to your subscription price.
