With Android 15 gradually rolling out, Samsung is gearing up to launch its new One UI 7 interface. Expect a refined design, smarter features, and overall smoother performance.
But not everyone will get to enjoy it. Several popular Galaxy A series devices are being left behind. Samsung has officially ended software support for these models, meaning they’ll stay stuck on their current version of Android.
The Galaxy A phones heading into retirement🧓
Here’s the list of devices that will remain on Android 14 and One UI 6 :
- Galaxy A72
- Galaxy A52
- Galaxy A52 5G
- Galaxy A52s 5G
- Galaxy A32
- Galaxy A32 5G
- Galaxy A22
- Galaxy A22 5G
- Galaxy A13 5G
- Galaxy A12
- Galaxy A03
- Galaxy A03s
- Galaxy A02
All of these devices have surpassed their official support window, which usually spans 2 to 3 years of major Android updates for Samsung’s budget and mid-range models.
It’s not exactly a surprise, but it’s still a bit of a downer for anyone using these phones as daily drivers.
Why are these models left out? 🤔
Samsung’s update policy is now clear: newer models are promised four years of Android updates and five years of security patches. But this only applies to phones released after 2021.
Most of the models on this list were launched in 2020 or early 2021—before Samsung adopted this new update strategy. So this isn’t negligence, but rather a timeline that was always part of the plan.
Still, that doesn’t make it any easier to swallow for affected users.
What now? Here are your options 🔄
If you own one of these models, you can definitely keep using it. But just know you won’t receive any new features or major security patches moving forward.
To stay up to date, it might be time to consider upgrading. The Galaxy A lineup continues to evolve each year with better specs, longer update support, and smoother performance.
It could be the perfect opportunity for a fresh start.
Do you own one of these Galaxy A models? Do you think the software support duration is fair? Does this kind of news influence how often you upgrade your phone?
