Google held its annual Google I/O conference on May 10. It was an opportunity for the search giant and father of Android to present new products, including the long-awaited Pixel Tablet and the Pixel 7a.
Google Pixel Tablet: the tablet that adapts to all needs
Last October, Google already gave us a preview of its tablet, the Pixel Tablet. If at first glance, it does not bring anything more than the competition, it has an essential accessory that changes the game: a dock.
Intended to stay plugged in somewhere in your home, this charging dock, matching the color of the tablet, allows the tablet to charge easily while providing better sound quality. But that’s not all. Once in « Hub » mode, the tablet can also :
- serve as a photo viewer by adjusting the screen brightness to the room’s brightness;
- Provide easy access to a control center (connected to the Google Home application) to manage the connected devices in the home;
- be used without touching the screen thanks to Google Assistant (but some functions require authentication for privacy);
- be used as a Chromecast display.
The Google Pixel Tablet is currently on pre-order from €679 for the 128GB version and €799 for the 256GB version. It will be available from June 22 and the dock is delivered with the tablet.
Google Pixel 7a: The best mid-range experience
Last year, Google launched a smartphone that had everything to please with an attractive price, the Pixel 6a. However, it had many flaws that Google decided to correct this year.
It starts with the screen, which finally switches to a 90 Hz refresh rate to ensure good fluidity. The screen is still a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED panel with a centered punch.
The camera has also been given a nice update. While the Pixel 6a had to make do with a main sensor of only 12.2MP, the Pixel 7a raises the bar with a 64MP sensor. The ultra-wide angle increases to 13 MP. The Super Res Zoom function, which provides good image quality on x8 enlargements, is also part of the game. As for video, you can shoot up to 4K at 60 FPS. These cameras are housed in a horizontal design that has become a signature of the Pixel line.
As for the rest of the specs, you should know that the Pixel 7a runs on the same chip as the Pixel 7, Google’s Tensor G2 chip. It is backed by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A little bonus, wireless charging is now available.
The Pixel 7A is now on sale for 509€, which is 50€ more than the Pixel 6a at its release. It is available in charcoal, snow, ocean and coral
