Oppo Find N5: The world’s thinnest foldable smartphone… but only for Asia📱

Oppo is making a big impact with its new Find N5, the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone. At just 8.93 mm thick when folded and 4.21 mm when unfolded, it even surpasses the Honor Magic V3. However, behind this technical feat lies a disappointment for fans: it will only be available in a few Asian countries.

A cutting-edge design and high-end displays🌟

To achieve this record-breaking thinness, Oppo has developed a brand-new 3D-printed titanium hinge, which is 26% more compact than the previous model. The use of materials like carbon fiber also helps keep the weight down to just 229 g, barely heavier than some conventional smartphones.

In terms of finish, the device comes in black, white, and an exclusive purple version for China. The camera module features a circular design on the back, setting it apart from the competition.

Oppo didn’t just slim down its smartphone; it also equipped it with impressive displays. The 8.12-inch foldable internal screen boasts an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, just like the 6.62-inch external screen. The latter stands out with a peak brightness of 2450 nits, making it ideal for outdoor use. Another highlight: Dolby Vision certification ensures exceptional image quality for videos and gaming.

A versatile camera, top-tier performance, and XXL battery life🌟

The Find N5 features a 50 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom and 6x hybrid zoom. This setup makes it a strong competitor to the best camera phones on the market.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with 16 GB of RAM. When it comes to endurance, the Find N5 packs a massive 5600 mAh battery— a record for a foldable phone. Thanks to silicon-carbon technology, Oppo promises impressive battery life, backed by 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

An interface designed for multitasking 💻

Running ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, the Find N5 takes multitasking to the next level with the new « Boundless View » interface. This innovation allows for seamless and intuitive use of multiple apps at the same time.

And good news for longevity: Oppo guarantees 4 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches.

The catch: limited availability 🚫

Despite all its qualities, the Find N5 won’t be sold outside of Asia. Oppo is following the trend of Chinese manufacturers reserving their most advanced foldable models for their home market. If you want to get your hands on this smartphone, you’ll have to go through import channels… or hope that Oppo changes its strategy. This limited availability gives Samsung a chance to respond with a sharper Z Fold 6…
