Samsung is pushing the boundaries once again with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 — a foldable phone that’s not just slimmer, but smarter and more refined across the board. With major upgrades in design, AI, and user experience, this is the Fold to beat in 2025.
Slimmer than ever, with zero compromise 🪶
At just 8.9 mm thick when closed, the Z Fold 7 is a remarkable 26% thinner than its predecessor — an impressive feat given its dual-screen form factor. Weighing just 215 grams, it’s now comparable to many traditional smartphones.
Despite its slimmed-down profile, Samsung hasn’t sacrificed durability. The hinge is reinforced with Armor Aluminum, while the foldable display now uses Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. Even better? The crease is barely noticeable, giving the device a truly premium feel every time you unfold it.
One UI 8 and Android 16: tailor-made for the fold 📱
The Z Fold 7 is the first device to ship with One UI 8, running on top of Android 16. The interface is fully optimized for the foldable format, bringing new multitasking tricks and AI-enhanced tools to the table.
Features like Photo Assist, Audio Eraser, and a new split-screen reading mode make great use of the expansive internal display. And with seven years of major OS and security updates promised, longevity is baked in from day one.
Gemini is everywhere — and it’s smarter than ever 🤖
Samsung is going all-in on AI with deep integration of Google’s Gemini. On the Z Fold 7, Gemini Live enables real-time screen sharing, context-aware suggestions, and a dual-pane layout that feels made for the device’s large display.
Samsung’s own apps — like Notes and Internet — are also getting AI boosts, helping streamline productivity and spark creativity. Even gaming benefits, with Circle to Search now usable mid-game for instant lookups without breaking the action.
Displays and cameras get the premium treatment 📸
Both screens on the Z Fold 7 are top-tier. The outer 6.5-inch OLED panel delivers Full HD+ resolution with LTPO tech for smooth adaptive refresh from 1 to 120 Hz — and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, making it easy to see even under harsh sunlight.
Unfold the device, and you’re greeted by an 8-inch QXGA+ OLED display with the same LTPO adaptive refresh, offering an immersive and ultra-fluid visual experience whether you’re reading, watching, or multitasking.
On the photography side, Samsung has borrowed the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 200 MP main sensor, capable of capturing ultra-detailed shots. It’s joined by a 12 MP ultra-wide lens and a 10 MP 3x telephoto, giving you solid versatility. A new visible 10 MP selfie camera improves video calls and self-portraits, while the 4,400 mAh battery supports 25W fast charging.
Durability also gets a boost with IP48 water and dust resistance, Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, and Victus 2 on board — making this the most rugged Fold yet.
One caveat: the Z Fold 7 drops support for the S Pen Fold Edition, a trade-off Samsung made to achieve the sleeker form factor.
Pricing, colors, and availability 💸
Make no mistake — the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a premium device with a premium price tag. It starts at €2,099 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The 12GB/512GB model goes for €2,219, and the top-end version — 16GB RAM with 1TB storage — comes in at €2,519. Samsung is offering four color options: Midnight Blue, Absolute Black, Gray, and an exclusive Aqua Green that’s only available through its official website.
Pre-orders are open until July 24, with early buyers getting access to exclusive launch promos. The official release date is July 25, 2025. Between the color choices and pre-order perks, Samsung clearly wants to appeal to tech enthusiasts who value both style and early access.
With the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung proves that foldables are no longer a gimmick — they’re a legitimate high-end option. Slimmer, sturdier, and supercharged with AI, this is a phone built for power users willing to invest in cutting-edge tech. The future of foldables looks brighter — and thinner — than ever.
