On September 25, 2025, Algeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs unveiled “DZ Travellers”, a new digital platform designed to assist and protect Algerian nationals traveling outside the country. The initiative aims to strengthen consular support and emergency response for citizens abroad.

A service built for Algerian travelers ✈️

Available online, DZ Travellers provides users with practical travel advice, safety guidelines, and an alert system for reporting emergencies.
According to Sofiane Chaib, Secretary of State for the National Community Abroad, the platform’s goal is to “deliver useful information and guidance during crisis situations outside the national territory.”

The Ministry notes that this service complements existing consular mechanisms and fits into a broader modernization effort, aligned with the directives of Algeria’s top authorities. The end goal: ensuring Algerians are protected and supported, wherever they are in the world.

A smart alert and tracking system 🚨

In cases of emergency—such as natural disasters, health crises, security incidents, or personal emergencies—travelers can register on the platform to receive tailored instructions in real time.
Officials hope this will make consular services more responsive and strengthen the connection between the Algerian state and its citizens abroad.

Algerians traveling overseas are encouraged to sign up before or during their trips to make assistance faster and more efficient in case of need.
The service is available at https://apcs.mfa.gov.dz.

Toward a connected consular diplomacy 📲

The launch of DZ Travellers comes as more governments worldwide turn to digital tools to track and support their communities abroad.
For Algeria, this marks another step toward a modern, connected consular diplomacy—one that’s ready to meet the needs of millions of citizens living or traveling beyond its borders.
