On November 22, 2024, MTN Benin launched the country’s first commercial 5G service. This initiative places Benin at the forefront of innovation in West Africa, offering ultra-fast and reliable connectivity.

According to the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Post (ARCEP), MTN had 8.4 million active mobile subscriptions in the second quarter of 2024, representing about 50% of the market share. Additionally, the company boasts 6.1 million active mobile internet subscriptions out of a total of 11 million.
