Morocco is launching « Generation AI: Boosting 1000 Moroccan SMEs » on February 4, 2025. This program aims to integrate AI into 1000 small and medium-sized enterprises. It is led by the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), in partnership with the EBRD and LinkedIn.
A program to accelerate AI adoption 🚀
This project aims to help companies integrate artificial intelligence into their processes. Through this program, 1000 Moroccan SMEs will have access to specialized training. Entrepreneurs will benefit from LinkedIn Learning licenses, allowing them to acquire essential AI skills. Additionally, several training modules will be offered, covering areas such as innovation, sustainable development, and digital transformation.
The licenses, which are individual and non-transferable, will remain valid until September 2025. This will give participants the time to deepen their knowledge and implement strategies tailored to their needs.
A necessity to stay competitive 📊
In a world where technology is evolving rapidly, businesses must adapt. However, Africa lags behind in artificial intelligence adoption. A PwC report, published on May 30, revealed that only 27% of African business leaders have already adopted generative AI, compared to a global average of 32%.
This delay can be attributed to several factors: limited access to technological resources, a lack of training, and the still cautious adoption of new technologies by companies. Yet, AI represents a major opportunity to enhance productivity and drive innovation.
Strategic support for Moroccan SMEs 🤝
One of the goals of the « Generation AI » program is to support SMEs in this digital transformation. It benefits from the support of several key players, including the Moroccan Association of Women Entrepreneurs (AFEM) and Technopark.
With this support, companies will have the means to integrate AI into their daily operations. Beyond training, they will also receive guidance and tools to better leverage emerging technologies.
A vision for the future 🌍
With this program, Morocco demonstrates its ambition to position its SMEs in the digital age. By facilitating AI adoption, the country hopes to strengthen its economic competitiveness and bridge the gap with major technological powers. The question remains: will this initiative be enough to encourage a significant number of companies to take the leap?
