Have you ever spent long minutes digging through your inbox to find a crucial document, without success? Google has heard your complaints. Gmail search is evolving with the integration of Google Gemini, an artificial intelligence that promises more relevant and faster results.
A smarter search 🎡
Until now, typing a keyword in Gmail displayed a chronological list of emails containing that term. Useful? Not really, especially when you don’t remember the sender or the exact date. With AI, Gmail analyzes your habits: the emails you open frequently, those from your regular contacts, or even those containing files you often consult.
Example: Looking for a contract sent six months ago? Instead of showing a long list of emails, Gmail will highlight the one you check regularly, even if it’s not recent.

Good news for those who prefer the old system: you still have the choice. A dropdown menu lets you switch between « Most relevant » and « Most recent » results, so you’re not entirely dependent on AI.
Gmail, more assistive than ever 🤖
This update is part of a series of AI-powered improvements, including automatic replies, assisted writing, and email summaries. Google is refining Gmail without disrupting user habits—a strategy likely to appeal to its millions of users.
With this redesign, Gmail becomes more than just an email service—it’s a tool that understands how you work. The integration of Google Gemini simplifies searches and optimizes your time. The real question is whether this AI will live up to its promises in the long run.
