Stop saying Bing Chat and say Microsoft Copilot 🤖

Unveiled earlier this year by Microsoft, Bing Chat was Microsoft’s first shot in the AI battle. The chatbot will change its name to Microsoft Copilot.

Copilot gains independence 🥳

With the introduction of Bing Chat, Microsoft’s search engine enjoyed a certain resurgence in popularity. Since then, however, the growth curve has stagnated. The renaming of Bing Chat to Microsoft Copilot and the assumption of independence also means for the chatbot to detach itself from Bing’s not always glorious reputation.

Microsoft will be separating its chatbot from the Bing interface, moving a little closer to what is offered by OpenAI with ChatGPT, by dedicating a specific site to it. As a result, it will no longer be necessary to go through Bing to access the chatbot; all you need to do is visit copilot.microsoft.com.

Despite this autonomy, Bing remains at the heart of the experience. Indeed, unlike the free version of ChatGPT, Copilot can perform web searches based on, as you may have guessed, Bing.

What do you think of the name change? Have you already used Bing Chat? If not, could this change prompt you to do so?
