Google is strengthening its AI with a major upgrade to its video conferencing platform. Since March 12, 2025, the automatic note-taking feature has expanded to French and six other languages, making meeting follow-ups even smoother.
A smart note-taking assistant📌
Launched in English in 2024 under the name « Take notes for me, » the tool is now available in French as « Prends des notes pour moi, » as well as in German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, and Korean. This update significantly improves the user experience, especially for those juggling between active listening and note-taking.
In practice, this feature automatically generates a detailed summary of discussions, including key points and decisions made. Even better, these notes are instantly shared with all participants, who can access them in real time.
Easier and more secure note-taking 🛡️
Thanks to this innovation, professionals no longer need to split their focus between discussion and writing. They can fully concentrate on their exchanges while keeping an accurate written record of the meeting.
Moreover, Google Meet includes essential privacy options. Participants can disable note-taking at any time if the conversation is deemed too sensitive. After the meeting, the summary is automatically attached to the Google Calendar event and stored in Google Drive.
How to enable this new feature? 🎯
To use automatic note-taking on Google Meet, simply:
1️⃣ Go to meet.google.com or the app available on the Play Store or App Store
2️⃣ Select the meeting
3️⃣ Click on “Take notes with Gemini” at the top right of the screen
Once the meeting is over, the organizer and participants who enabled the feature will receive an email containing a link to the generated document.
AI goes beyond Google Meet! 🖌️
Gemini is also integrated into Google Slides, directly within the side panel. With this update, users can:
- Generate images
- Summarize data
- Create slides from existing documents
This feature is particularly useful for client presentations, internal training, or conferences. With just a few clicks, it becomes easier to design impactful slides without wasting time.
Who can access it ? 🎟️
Since March 12, 2025, these new features have been available but are limited to certain Google subscriptions:
- Business Standard and Plus
- Enterprise Standard and Plus
- Gemini Education Premium, Gemini Enterprise and AI Meetings & Messaging
With these advancements, Google continues to integrate artificial intelligence at the core of its collaborative tools, making daily work easier for professionals.
