Creating stickers just got easier on WhatsApp ✨

Stickers are one of the most popular means of expression for WhatsApp users. However, creating personalized stickers currently requires the use of other applications. This will soon become a thing of the past.

Create your own stickers directly from WhatsApp 🖌️

Since their introduction on WhatsApp, stickers have been a hit with users. They’re more expressive than classic emojis and easier to use than GIFs. In addition to the packs offered in the application, it is possible to create stickers from images and videos and then add them to WhatsApp. Unfortunately, this currently requires the use of an external application. In its latest update, WhatsApp now offers the creation of personalized stickers directly from the stickers panel.

As you can see in the video above, the procedure is quite simple:

1. Click on the stickers button
2. Then click on the button at the top left of the sticker list.
3. Choose the photo from which you’d like to create a sticker.
4. WhatsApp will automatically suggest a cropped version if it detects an object. You can add text, as well as other stickers.
5. Once your personalized sticker is ready, all you have to do is send it.

While this new feature is very welcome, it does have some drawbacks. Firstly, it is currently only possible to create non-animated stickers. Secondly, the feature is, for the time being, reserved for iOS users. No date for a roll-out to Android users has been communicated. We’ll keep you posted as the situation develops.
