Power outages in Cameroon are a real scourge, and can ruin our daily schedule when not expected. What if we told you that there is a simple and easy way to anticipate these blackouts?

Onacut, the application to anticipate power outages⚡

The team behind the exam preparation application Shomi, which you can discover by clicking here, is back with a new application that should please most people: Onacut

With a name taken from a play on words, this application has a simple and very useful objective: to allow you to anticipate power outages. The application allows you to choose from a list of neighborhoods that interest you in order to receive notifications in case of scheduled power outages. To date, more than 1,000 neighborhoods are already referenced.

The app also has a map that allows you to view all neighborhoods. By zooming in on the map, you can easily identify the neighborhoods in which a outage is planned. Unfortunately, for now, this screen does not allow you to access specific information about the different neighborhoods. This will surely be the subject of a future update.

If notifications are very practical, Onacut does not stop there and also offers a calendar that displays the scheduled breaks for the areas you have chosen. This way you can better organize your schedule.

Reliability dependent on Eneo’s data

The reliability of the application depends on the data provided by the official website of Eneo. Despite the best efforts of the app’s creators, they cannot anticipate unexpected outages that are not communicated by Eneo. In the future, a function that allows users to report these outages may be added to the application.

In the meantime, we strongly advise you to download the application. It is currently only available on Android, by clicking here.
