The Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reform has announced the imminent launch of Aigles, an application designed to revolutionize the management of state personnel. Civil servants will now be able to submit requests for career-related documents and track the progress of their applications remotely, directly from their phones.
An official announcement before parliament 🏛️
On December 3, 2024, the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform presented the ministry’s progress to Members of Parliament. At the core of his address was the Aigles project, a digital application for the logical management of staff and payroll, slated for launch on January 1, 2025.
According to Minister Joseph Lé, this new tool marks a major turning point in the management of state personnel. He told the press:
« With Aigles, we aim to completely transform the process. Paper requests are entirely eliminated. Through this portal, an agent’s file is accessible with just one click. »
Delays fuel anticipation ⏳
Initially scheduled for the first quarter of 2024, the launch of the application has been postponed several times. As of June this year, only 13 out of the 14 modules had been successfully tested, delaying the full rollout.
The application is set to introduce significant changes to human resource management in the public sector. It will also enhance payroll control, fundamentally reshaping the operations of public institutions. Among the 14 innovative modules, biometrics and electronic archiving stand out as key features of the new Sigipes II system.
On this matter, Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute expressed impatience. During the presentation of the government’s 2025 Economic, Financial, Social, and Cultural Program, he urged MINFOPRA to activate the 12 available modules, even though the biometric module is still under development.
An ambitious application 📊
Aigles aims to merge two existing applications: Antilope, which handles payroll management, and Sigipes, specialized in career management. Through this integration, the state hopes to achieve simultaneous and optimized management of civil servants’ salaries and careers.
The modules currently ready for deployment include retirement management, payroll, and archiving. However, the biometric module, designed to monitor actual attendance at work, remains the final piece needed for a complete version.
For Joseph Lé, Aigles represents a significant step forward in modernizing Cameroon’s public service. The application is expected to reduce administrative errors and enhance public service efficiency.
The official launch is set for January 1, 2025, with the hope that this ambitious project will finally deliver on its promises.
