Back in March, Microsoft announced that it was extending its ‘Phone Link’ application to iPhones. Synchronisation between Windows 11 and your iPhone is now a reality.

Receive calls and messages on Windows 11🪟

Until now, the Phone Link application (formerly called Your Phone) enabled you to synchronise your Android smartphone with your Windows PC. With the new update, you can now synchronise your iPhone with your Windows 11 PC.

However, synchronisation with the iPhone is more basic than that offered for Android smartphones. By synchronising the two devices, you’ll be able to send and receive messages via iMessage, make and receive calls, and view any notification from your iPhone on your computer. However, you won’t be able to access your message history or take part in group conversations. Nor will you be able to run iPhone applications on your computer. As for access to the gallery, you’ll have to use the Photos application instead, as we mentioned in a previous article which you can find by clicking here.

How do you synchronise your iPhone with your Windows computer?  🔄️

The procedure is quite simple:

1. Launch the « Phone Link » application on Windows 11
2. Choose « iPhone » on the home page, then follow the steps with the QR Code.

3. Scan the QR Code from your iPhone to download the « Link with Windows » application and configure the link.

4. Confirm the pairing between the devices on your computer and on your iPhone

5. Once you’ve paired up, you’ll need to grant your computer certain permissions on your iPhone to access your contacts and notifications

6. Synchronisation is now operational.

The « Link to Windows » application for iOS requires an iPhone with iOS 14 or higher, a Windows 11 device, a Bluetooth connection and the latest version of the « Phone Link » application on Windows. It is not available for iPad® (iPadOS®) or macOS.
