From now on, Google Meet makes it easy to switch between your phone and your computer when making calls. A new feature called « Switch Here » makes it easy to switch an active Meet call from one device to the other.

One click to switch between two devices 🔁

This new feature lets you switch seamlessly from one device to another. Whether you’re sitting at your desk or on the move during a group meeting, you’ll never miss your meetings again. No need to watch your window minimize and maximize every time you switch devices.

Even better, the new « Join in two places » option lets you take part in the same meeting from two devices simultaneously! So you can follow the discussion from your tablet in the kitchen while preparing dinner, then switch to your laptop in the office to take notes. Juggling several tasks? No problem, Google Meet adapts to your rhythm!

Accessing this new feature couldn’t be easier. Simply open the meeting link on the device you wish to switch to. All you have to do is click on the blue « Switch here » button (which replaces the « Join » button). To join a meeting from two devices at the same time, click on « Other connection options » and select « Join here too ».

With this new feature, Google Meet comes closer to the experience offered by its competitor Microsoft Teams.

The device switching feature is already available to users of both personal and business Google accounts. It is being rolled out today.

Do you use Google Meet? Do you think this new feature will help you in your day-to-day work? Let us know in the comments section.
