In Lubumbashi, Vodacom Congo—working with Kadea Academy, GIZ, and the Ministry of Vocational Training—has completed a new phase of its “Empowering Digital Talent” program. A total of 1,147 young people earned Microsoft Excel certifications, surpassing the initial target of 1,000 participants and marking a significant step in building the country’s digital human capital.
Building stronger career prospects 🎓
Participants went through an intensive training course culminating in the international TOSA certification, a globally recognized benchmark for digital proficiency. With this credential in hand, graduates now possess skills that translate directly to the job market, especially in administration, management, and data analysis.
The latest certificate ceremony took place on October 31, 2025, in Lubumbashi, gathering program partners and government representatives. Graduates praised an initiative that gives them tangible pathways to employment and career growth.
Aiming to train 20,000 young people by 2027 🚀
“Empowering Digital Talent” is part of Vodacom Congo’s long-term vision: training 20,000 young people in digital skills by 2027. The objective is clear—prepare a new generation of talent equipped for the fast-evolving digital job market and strengthen the DRC’s competitiveness across Africa.
According to Vodacom Congo, digital education is a key driver in reducing youth unemployment and supporting local innovation. By providing hands-on, market-ready skills, the program contributes to building a more inclusive and sustainable tech ecosystem.
