Samsung has just unveiled its new flagship foldable smartphones at its Galaxy Unpacked conference in Paris. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 bring notable improvements while retaining their distinctive formats.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, the most popular clamshell foldable smartphone, makes its grand return. Designed to maximize portability and customization, the Z Flip 6 is equipped with a 3.4-inch FlexWindow external display. It offers AI-assisted functions without even needing to open the device. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 maintains its compact structure with a thickness of 6.9 mm when open and 14.9 mm when closed, weighing 187 g. The hinge is tested to withstand 200,000 open/close cycles, ensuring exceptional durability. The screens are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, increasing protection against shocks and scratches.

Customization capabilities are enhanced with Photo Ambient, an AI-powered function that adapts the wallpaper in real-time based on time and weather. Additionally, FlexCam improves the shooting experience with Auto Zoom, which automatically adjusts the frame to include all subjects. With reduced height and increased width, the Z Fold 6 presents a more square shape. Its weight is also reduced by 14 g compared to its predecessor, reaching 239 g. The 6.3-inch external screen and 7.6-inch internal screen offer a maximum brightness of 2600 cd/m². Both are equipped with AMOLED LTPO panels for an adaptive refresh rate between 1 and 120 Hz. In addition to improving image fluidity, these screens help save energy. Robustness is ensured by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an IP48 protection rating, guaranteeing dust and water resistance.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, with 12 GB of RAM. It also has a vapor chamber enlarged by 60% for better heat dissipation. It runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1.1, integrating AI features to fully exploit the foldable format. • 1199 euros for the 256GB version;
• 1319 euros for the 512GB version.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is available in gray, midnight blue, and pink. A final color, carbon black, is available only on Samsung’s website. Prices also vary depending on storage capacity:

• 1999 euros for the 256GB version;
• 2119 euros for the 512GB version;
• 2359 euros for the 1TB version.
