Every September, Apple sets the tone for the year. And once again, the spotlight isn’t just on iPhones but on wearables and audio. This time: the Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3, SE 3, and the new AirPods Pro 3.
On paper, it’s all about a refined design, deeper health tracking, longer battery life, and—finally—some bold new features. But are these updates the breakthrough Apple fans have been waiting for, or just incremental tweaks dressed up as innovation? Let’s break it down.
Apple Watch Series 11: health without compromise ❤️🩹
The Series 11 doesn’t reinvent the formula, but Apple has shaved off weight and boosted durability, making it the lightest, toughest watch in the lineup.
The headline feature: a blood pressure sensor. By analyzing cardiac signals, it can flag potential hypertension risks—a big deal in the health wearables race. Sleep tracking also gets smarter, with a new scoring system and better detection of sleep phases and interruptions, bringing it closer to Fitbit and Oura territory. And for the first time, there’s 5G on your wrist, reducing dependence on the iPhone.
Battery life stretches to 24 hours thanks to the new S11 chip and a more efficient display. Still no microLED screen or radical design shift—something power users were hoping for—but the upgrades feel meaningful. Prices start at €449 for aluminum, going up to €849 for the titanium 5G model.
Apple Watch Ultra 3: satellite, stamina, and serious adventure 🛰️
The Ultra 3 is Apple’s most rugged watch yet, now built for true explorers. The star addition: satellite connectivity. That means you can send messages and alerts off-grid—though only emergency alerts are free; everything else requires a subscription.
Apple also upgraded the display with better brightness and readability outdoors, plus a slightly larger surface. Battery life climbs to 42 hours, and yes, 5G is included. Still no microLED, but Apple is clearly betting on practical refinements over showstopping leaps.
Price: €899, available in two titanium finishes from September 19. Solid progress, but not the revolution some adventurers were waiting for.
Apple Watch SE 3: the entry model grows up 👛
Three years after the last SE, Apple’s budget-friendly watch finally gets a big upgrade. The SE 3 inherits a lot from the premium models: S10 chip, 5G, always-on display, faster charging, and even temperature sensing. It skips advanced health features like ECG, but for most people, that’s hardly a dealbreaker.
At €269, it’s now a serious entry point into the Apple Watch ecosystem—without feeling like a watered-down option.
AirPods Pro 3: sound, health, and live translation 🎧
The AirPods Pro 3 look almost identical to their predecessors, but don’t be fooled—the upgrades are real.
Fit is better thanks to five ear tip sizes, and stability is improved for workouts. For health, there’s a built-in heart rate sensor to track your pulse and calorie burn, syncing directly with your iPhone. Noise cancellation is now twice as effective, and the buds are rated IP57 for water and dust resistance.
But the standout feature is straight out of sci-fi: live translation, directly in your ears. Conversations are translated in real time, while Transparency Mode cleverly suppresses the original voice to make the translation easier to follow. Battery life rises to 8 hours with ANC and up to 10 hours in transparency mode. All that for €249.
Incremental progress… or just an “S” year? 🏁
With this lineup, Apple isn’t chasing flashy revolutions. Instead, it’s doubling down on useful upgrades: stronger health monitoring, longer battery life, better connectivity, and smarter everyday features.
The absence of microLED or any radical design shift will disappoint early adopters hoping for a seismic leap. But in terms of real-world usability, this is Apple at its most pragmatic. The bigger question: are these upgrades enough to make you upgrade—or just a placeholder until the next big thing?
