Instagram reinvents itself: adding text and image overlay directly in the app 📸

Instagram has just announced a major update that radically transforms how users can edit and personalize their photos directly within the application. These new features offer content creators unprecedented creative freedom. At the same time, it makes the use of third-party applications obsolete for many editing tasks.

Text Addition and Image Overlay 🖌️

The flagship feature of this update is the ability to add text directly to photos and carousels. Users can now insert captions, comments, or additional information directly onto their images without having to leave the Instagram app. This option, long requested by the community, allows posts to be more informative and visually appealing.

To use this new function, simply tap the text button after selecting a photo in the gallery. Instagram also offers a variety of new fonts, allowing users to further customize the appearance of the added text.

Another major innovation is the ability to overlay additional images on a main photo in the form of stickers. This function paves the way for complex and original visual compositions, directly from the Instagram editor. Users can access this option by tapping the gallery button in the top right corner of the screen when editing a photo.

Instagram pushes customization even further by allowing users to modify the shape of these stickers. Users can choose between different geometric shapes such as rectangle, square, circle, heart, or star. Instagram thus offers increased flexibility in the design of their visuals.

Improvements for Reels and Stories 📹

Although the focus is on photos, Instagram hasn’t neglected its other content formats. Reels and Stories also benefit from new text options, with the introduction of new fonts and animation effects. These additions allow content creators to make their videos even more attractive and engaging.
