Le 26 fĂ©vrier 2025, Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab et le ministĂšre marocain de lâĂducation nationale, du PrĂ©scolaire et des Sports ont signĂ© un avenant Ă leur accord initial. Lâobjectif est de renforcer la formation aux compĂ©tences numĂ©riques des jeunes Marocains et de les prĂ©parer aux dĂ©fis technologiques de demain.
An expanding training program đ
This partnership is part of the Samsung Innovation Campus program, launched in 2019. It aims to provide young people with training in information and communication technologies (ICT), thus meeting the growing demand for digital skills, both in Morocco and internationally.
Since its launch, 780 teachers have been trained through this program. These teachers have subsequently supervised 1,273 students in regional training sessions. The training courses mainly focus on programming in Python, a widely used language in digital professions.
The program now aims to train 100,000 young people per year in digital skills. This expansion addresses an urgent need for a qualified workforce in the technology, digital, and artificial intelligence sectors.
A project aligned with Morocco’s digital strategy đ
Morocco recently unveiled its Digital Strategy 2030, which places particular emphasis on youth training and digital development. This strategy includes :
- Training 100,000 young people per year in digital skills.
- Creating 240,000 jobs in the digital sector by 2030.
- Strengthening technological infrastructure to support this transition.
Samsung, a key player in digital development đ
During the signing of this agreement, Hee Young Hong, President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab, emphasized the importance of this project:
« Samsung is committed to supporting education and innovation in Morocco. We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with the Ministry of National Education. We want to offer young Moroccans unique opportunities to develop their skills and innovate in the jobs of tomorrow. »
The integration of artificial intelligence into the program and the launch of a National Hackathon will enable students to acquire advanced knowledge and apply their skills to real-world projects.
A major challenge for Africa đ
According to the Brookings Institutionâs Foresight Africa 2025-2030 report, 230 million jobs in Africa will require digital skills by 2030, representing an economic potential of $130 billion.
In this context, initiatives like the Samsung Innovation Campus are essential for preparing young people for future careers and fostering the continent’s economic development. This program contributes to Africa’s digital competitiveness and supports the digital transformation of the job market.
