Meta continues to improve its WhatsApp messaging application every day. A recent update showcases the application for Mac.
A brand new application 🤩
Mac users are no longer left out by WhatsApp. Following in the footsteps of Windows users, they now have a brand-new interface adapted to larger screens. This means more space to display more of your chat history. What’s more, it’s now possible to share files by easily dragging and dropping them into a conversation. But that’s not all.
WhatsApp is taking advantage of this new app to add a feature that should be very useful for users: group calls. With this new app, users can now connect with up to eight people on video calls, and up to 32 people on audio calls. What’s more, it’s now possible to join a group call in progress, view your past call history, and choose to receive notifications for incoming calls, even when the app is closed.
Unfortunately, the application has lost a useful feature in the process. The ability to filter messages to show only unread messages has disappeared. Let’s hope it makes a comeback in a future update.
As with all its applications, this one features end-to-end encryption. If you’d like to try it out, it’s available for download now on WhatsApp.com and soon on the Mac App Store.
