Launched earlier this year in Yaoundé, SecuSchool offers an innovative approach to involving parents in the educational monitoring and safety of their children. This application provides real-time tracking to prevent abductions while enhancing school management.

A major innovation for parents and schools📱

With SecuSchool, parents now have a digital tool to keep track of their children’s activities. Beyond verifying their presence at school, the app strengthens student safety and supports educational monitoring.

« We noticed that many parents, due to their busy schedules, lack the time to ensure their children are indeed in class or following school instructions. This app fills that gap by offering remote control and peace of mind, » explains Line Toussi, SecuSchool’s Sales Manager.

The primary goal of the app is to prevent cases of child abduction near school premises. By integrating tracking technology, it ensures that every student is securely accounted for, whether at school or home.

How the application works 🔑

SecuSchool relies on a simple yet effective digital system. Here’s how it works :

• Registration for schools and parents

Interested schools and parents must sign up on the platform. Once the process is complete, each child is registered in the system with detailed information.

• Digital cards for students

Each student receives a unique digital card compatible with devices provided to schools. These cards are scanned when students enter or leave the premises.

• Real-time notifications

The moment a student’s card is scanned, an instant notification is sent to their parents. Parents can then verify whether their child has arrived at or left school. They must also confirm their child’s safe arrival at home, strengthening the security chain.

• Monitoring academic activities

Beyond security, the app also allows for the tracking of academic progress and student behavior. Parents can view evaluations, absences, or any incidents reported by the school.

In Cameroon, child abductions are a growing concern. Recent reports have highlighted several incidents in major cities, including Yaoundé and Douala.

SecuSchool aims to reduce these risks by providing a concrete and accessible solution. By leveraging technology, the app ensures rapid communication between parents and schools, making any abduction attempt significantly more challenging.

« We have implemented strict measures to ensure that children’s and parents’ data remain confidential. No information is shared with third parties without prior consent, » assures Line Toussi.

Additionally, the app is regularly updated to include new features and enhance its efficiency. Though still in its launch phase, the app is already garnering significant interest. Several schools in Yaoundé and Douala have expressed their intent to adopt it.
