Netflix has updates for profile transfer 📦

When Netflix announced the end of account sharing, the platform specified that profiles could be transferred to new accounts. Netflix is now extending this transfer functionality to existing accounts.

Netflix adapts to life’s changes

In the message published on its blog, Netflix does not directly mention the end of account sharing, quite the opposite. According to Netflix :

People move. Families grow. Relationships end. But throughout these life changes, your Netflix experience should stay the same.

The idea behind this feature is to support users as their lives change. So,if for any reason you no longer wish to be attached to the Netflix account to which your profile was attached, you will be able to migrate to another account while retaining your viewing history, your list, your personalised recommendations, your saved games and all your account settings in general.

In the past, this feature allowed you to transfer your profile to a new account, presumably dedicated to the person wishing to make the transfer. Now you can also transfer your profile to an existing account. The procedure is quite simple:

• Click on your profile photo
• Choose the « Transfer profile » option and follow the instructions.

And that’s it, your profile has been transferred. The feature should be useful for those who are moving house, or moving to new homes. The feature is currently being rolled out, and you will be notified by email once it is available for your account.
