From HD photos to paid DMs: Telegram’s bold new feature drop 🚀

Telegram just rolled out a wave of upgrades designed to make life easier for creators, community managers, and power users alike. We’re talking direct messages to channels, tabbed topic navigation, precision trimming for voice notes, high-definition photo sharing, more versatile polls, collaborative to-do lists, and even a way for fans to pitch posts that creators can monetize. These aren’t just cosmetic tweaks — they reshape how people create, interact, and earn on Telegram.
Trim voice messages before sending ✂️
No more “sorry, let me start over.” After recording, you can now drag start and end points to send only the best snippet. You can also pause and resume recordings, stitching together multiple segments. Podcasters, reporters, or anyone sending long voice notes will love the extra control.
Better-quality photos without the data hit 📸
A new High Definition option boosts resolution up to four times while keeping file sizes light — often under 0.5 MB. That’s perfect for sharing crisp travel shots, product photos, or visual designs without sacrificing speed.
More flexible polls 📊
Polls now support up to 12 answer options, plus you can save them to your “Saved Messages” for future reuse. Handy for complex decisions or keeping a record of votes without digging through chat history.
Send direct messages to channels ✉️
Followers can now message a channel’s admins directly, without sharing personal contact info or cluttering private chats. Admins can choose to enable the feature — and even set a fee per message. That could be a smart filter for high-volume creators, or a new paid engagement model for exclusive interactions.
Tabbed topics: faster, cleaner navigation 🔖
Topic threads now live in tabs, making it easier to jump between discussions. You can pick a wider sidebar view or a minimal tab strip above the chat. It’s a small UX change, but in big, busy groups it’s a lifesaver for staying on top of multiple conversations.
To-do lists and suggested posts: collaboration meets monetization ✅💡
Premium users can now create shared task lists right inside Telegram, making it easier for teams to stay in sync without third-party tools. On the monetization side, followers can submit suggested posts to channels — creators can edit, schedule, and publish them, while getting paid in Telegram Stars or Toncoin. It’s an all-in-one system for collaborating and earning without leaving the app.
These updates position Telegram as more than just a messaging app. It’s increasingly a full-fledged platform for creation, moderation, collaboration, and monetization. The tools are well thought-out, but their impact will depend on how creators handle paid messaging and user-generated post submissions. The real test will be in moderation, content quality, and protecting both sides of the conversation.
