Gone are the long queues and crowded notice boards. Starting this year, results for the baccalaureate and other official exams will be available with just one click. On April 9, 2025, in Yaoundé, MTN Cameroon and the Cameroon Baccalaureate Board (OBC) signed a partnership to usher the education system into the digital era.
A top-level signing ✍️
The signing ceremony brought together key figures including Etienne Roger Minkoulou, Director General of the OBC, Wanda Matandela, CEO of MTN Cameroon, and Catherine Ndoumbe Manga, Chairperson of the OBC Board of Directors. The goal is clear: to make educational information more accessible, reliable, and modern.
At the heart of this collaboration is the mobile application Ayoba. Already used by over 2.5 million people in Cameroon, it is now becoming the go-to platform for accessing official exam results. At the same time, a digital database will be created to host past exam papers — a valuable resource for students, teachers, and parents.
Wanda Matandela, CEO of MTN Cameroon, summed up the initiative:
“It’s clear that our super app Ayoba is the ideal platform to support the digitization of educational content. This partnership reinforces our commitment to connecting Cameroonians to the benefits of the digital world,” he stated.

According to the Director of the OBC, the partnership will enable students to access their results in real time, free of charge.
“They will no longer need to pay 150 CFA francs to get their results via SMS, as was the case before. MTN will also support us in full-scale digitization,” he said.
For Roger Andang, digital manager at MTN Cameroon, the collaboration will aid the OBC’s digital transition:
“Digitization is a key pillar for MTN as we support Cameroonian youth. We realized candidates were still receiving their results through traditional means. Now, we aim to give both students and parents direct access through registration numbers,” he explained.
A chance to modernize education 🧑💻
To use the service, users must download the Ayoba app, which requires about 65.6 MB of data. Once installed, simply select the « Babillard 237 » option and enter the candidate’s registration number. The result will appear as “Admis” (Admitted) or “Refusé” (Rejected). However, only MTN subscribers can access the platform without consuming internet data.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize communication and management methods. Thanks to digitization, results will be delivered faster, with fewer manual errors and enhanced data security. For students, a new era is beginning — one where the mobile phone becomes a learning tool and technology simplifies both access to information and exam preparation.
