Galaxy AI features are coming to older Samsung models ✨

The real star when the new Galaxy S24s were announced was Galaxy AI. But good news if you don’t have a Galaxy S24, you’ll still be able to enjoy it.

Galaxy AI on the menu in One UI 6.1 🔁

Earlier this year, Samsung unveiled Galaxy AI, its set of Artificial Intelligence tools. They are particularly useful for better communication, productivity and creativity. You can discover these tools by clicking here. While until now these tools have been exclusive to the S24, Samsung has a pleasant surprise for owners of the Galaxy S23, S23FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 and Tab S9 tablet series. Via the upcoming One UI 6.1 system update, users of these devices will also be able to use the full capabilities of Galaxy AI.

“Our goal with Galaxy AI is not only to pioneer a new era of mobile AI but also to empower users by making AI more accessible,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics.

Communication, productivity and creativity✨

As mentioned in the previous paragraph, Galaxy AI provides functionalities in 3 areas: communication, productivity and creativity.

Communication features include the ability to adjust the tone of messages and translate messages into 13 different languages with Chat Assist. Galaxy users can also explore the effectiveness of real-time interactions with Live Translate. It offers voice and text translations during phone calls. And with Interpreter, users can easily take part in spontaneous conversations with locals on the move. In fact, the split-screen function generates text translations to facilitate live exchanges.

When it comes to productivity, the search function is optimized thanks to Circle to Search with Google, offering intuitive results with a simple circular gesture. Practical organization features, such as Note Assist, enable users to format, summarize and translate notes. In addition, Browsing Assist helps people stay informed faster by generating comprehensive summaries of news articles. Transcript Assist also facilitates the transcription of meeting recordings and generates summaries and translations.

Finally, the more creative can take advantage of Generative Edit, to easily adjust the size, position or alignment of objects in photos. Users can also quickly and easily enhance any photo with editing suggestions. What’s more, Instant Slow-mo can generate additional frames for slow-motion videos.

Toutes ces fonctionnalités d’IA seront disponibles via One UI 6.1, dès la fin du mois de mars.
