Realme GT3: the smartphone that recharges in 10 minutes ⚡

The MWC 2023 took place last week and offered us some nice surprises, between rollable screens and augmented reality glasses. If these products will not be available for sale for a while, another smartphone with an amazing feature will: the realme GT3.

Recharging is done in less than 10 minutes ⚡

Realme is a Chinese brand that was once a sub-brand of Oppo. Having become independent since 2018, the brand keeps growing especially internationally. At MWC, it took the opportunity to present of a smartphone that charges at lightning speed. Known in China as Realme GT Neo 5, it takes the name Realme GT 3 for its international availability.

The special feature of this smartphone is the power of its charger: 240W. To give you a context, smartphones like an iPhone or a Galaxy use chargers with a power between 25 and 45W. Laptops use between 65W for the most compact and can go up to 140W for the latest and most powerful MacBook Pro. But for its smartphone, Realme went up to 240W, the maximum power for the USB-C standard.

With such power, you can recover 20% of battery in 80 seconds, and the full charge is done in 9 minutes and 30 seconds . No need to plug in your smartphone before going to bed, it can charge as fast as you take a shower in the morning.

Such power generates a lot of heat, which is why Realme has covered more than 60% of the battery with a liquid cooling system. In addition, 13 heat sensors have been installed to adapt the charge according to the temperature of the battery. Don’t worry about the battery’s lifespan. It should retain 80% of its capacity after 1600 charging cycles, or about 4 years and 4 months if you charge it once a day:

A gaming-oriented smartphone with practical features

If Realme has equipped its smartphone with such a fast charging, it is also because its phone will surely be very busy for its users. The spec sheet is Gaming oriented: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, 8 to 16GB of RAM, and 128GB to 1TB of storage, 144Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display, enough for long gaming sessions.

For the photo part, we will have to rely on a main sensor of 50 megapixels, an ultra wide-angle of 8 megapixels, and a module of 2 megapixels. Selfies are provided by a 16-megapixel sensor.

The Realme GT 3 also comes with a rather handy feature, a C-shaped lighting ring.
