As part of the national strategy Morocco Digital 2030, the kingdom is implementing a program to train 200,000 children in digital skills and AI. The goal is to strengthen its digital development and embrace future technologies.

Access to training for all 🌐🏡

Launched in 2024, the training program is part of the Moroccan government’s vision to make the country a digital hub in Africa. This initiative is based on a collaboration between several key ministries and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. Together, they have signed a partnership to launch a program introducing children to digital skills, specifically programming, robotics, and AI.

One of the priorities of this program is to ensure equal access to digital training. The courses will be offered in youth centers spread across every region of the country. This choice aims to reach both children in urban areas and those in rural regions.

Moreover, the first phase of this program targets children aged 8 to 14. Later, the target age group will expand to include those aged 15 to 18. The objective is to integrate all Moroccan children into this digital development dynamic.

Training a new generation of digital experts 🚀👨‍💻

In the long run, the program aims to prepare young generations for careers in sectors such as AI, robotics, and programming. By training children from an early age, Morocco seeks to create a generation capable of tackling the challenges of the digital economy. Additionally, training young people in these fields will provide them with innovation opportunities and prepare them to actively contribute to the country’s digital revolution.

Notably, the program is an integral part of the Morocco Digital 2030 strategy. This project aims to strengthen the digital skills of the population. The ambition behind this strategy is to make Morocco a key player in digital technology on the continent. It promotes training citizens in new technologies and reducing the digital divide that still exists in Africa. This initiative is just one of many actions being implemented to support Morocco’s digital transformation. It is part of a vision to fully integrate emerging technologies into the country’s economy and society. In this way, the nation is preparing for an inclusive digital future, where all children will have a place in the digital revolution.
